About Miss Agnes Greetings
ABOUT THE COMPANY--
When a colleague of mine suffered a major illness and I wasn’t able to find a commercial card that I liked, I went home and, using whatever paper and supplies I could find, I made a card. I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome, as were my family and friends who began asking me to make cards for them. Not long after that Miss Agnes Greetings was born.
A question I am frequently asked is, “who is Miss Agnes?” Miss Agnes was my paternal grandmother with whom I shared a special bond. She was very Southern, very feminine, and she liked pretty, fancy things that were unique and of high-quality. My cards tend to be fancy -- over the top even -- with lots of flowers and bows and hearts. They’re pretty. It just seemed natural to name them after my grandmother.
Miss Agnes greeting cards are painstakingly handmade. I use the best paper I can find, and I find it from all over. Because of the workmanship involved and the high-end materials I use, Miss Agnes greeting cards are not inexpensive. Once you see them in person, you'll understand why. Admittedly, I am not the best photographer in the world; it has been brought to my attention that the images on this website don't begin to do my cards justice. Bottom line is, I'm very proud of my cards and I think you will be pleased as well.
I get a tremendous amount of pleasure from creating beautiful greeting cards. It is my desire that they are given and received in the loving manner intended.
ABOUT ME--
I am primarily a collage artist and watercolorist. In addition to greeting cards, I paint; write; knit; make dolls; design and make purses; and, create papier mache masks and objets d’art.
Stay tuned -- you will see more of my creations on this website in the near future. In the meantime, in addition to this website, Miss Agnes Greetings are available at the Oakland Artisan Marketplace, www.oaklandartisanmarketplace.org, and at local Bay Area arts & crafts fairs.
